The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine is Britain's national school of public health and a leading postgraduate institution worldwide for research and postgraduate study of the major disciplines related to global health and tropical medicine (Epidemiology & Population Health, Public Health & Policy, Infectious & Tropical diseases).

Its environment is a rich multicultural one: every year over 800 students come to the School from around 120 countries to study doctoral or masters degrees. The School has about 1200 staff drawn from around 45 nationalities. It is one of the highest-rated research institutions in the UK.

We offer 18 London-based taught Masters (MSc) degrees (1 year full-time and 2 years part-time) and four via distance learning. Research students can undertake either the MPhil/PhD programme or DrPH (Doctor of Public Health).  Research programmes are multidisciplinary and range from basic laboratory studies to applied public health research and from disease specific to those that deal with environmental or behavioural risk factors.  We also offer a short study programme with a range of shorter courses.
