Royal Navy

A University Royal Naval Unit (URNU)
is a Naval training establishment on or near a university campus.
Each unit has a Fast Training Boat, along with its own offices, classrooms and Officers' Mess.
14 URNUs have been established around the UK in order to provide an insight into naval life for undergraduates without any commitment to join the Navy.
The aim of the URNU organisation is to educate a wide spectrum of high calibre undergraduates who show potential as society's future leaders and opinion formers in order to better inform them of the need for and role of the Royal Navy, and to develop awareness of career opportunities in the service.
If you want to join an URNU it could be one of the best decisions you make during your university career. URNUs offer you a unique experience that will prepare you for the responsibilities of a challenging, modern world. At the same time you will have an absorbing, practical and rewarding activity to balance against your academic studies.
