Queen Mary, University of London, is an established university with a rich and diverse heritage and is one of the largest colleges of the University of London. It has its roots in four historic colleges: Queen Mary College, Westfield College, St Bartholomew’s Hospital Medical College and the London Hospital Medical School.

Queen Mary has 16,919 students studying for undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in six areas: arts, engineering, informatics and mathematical sciences, laws, natural sciences and social sciences, and the School of Medicine and Dentistry.

Queen Mary has over 1,200 teaching and research staff and has an outstanding international reputation for research. More than half of the research assessed in the RAE is at least “internationally excellent”. The Times Higher calls Queen Mary the “biggest star” as their table charts the College at 13th.

The diversity of the College community makes for a stimulating and cosmopolitan atmosphere. 30% of students are from overseas, representing about 100 countries, and orientation programmes and English language support are provided.

Facilities
Finding suitable accommodation while studying at Queen Mary is easy. The College’s own facilities are both extremely popular and competitively priced. The College offers accommodation either on or near to the campus, many of which have en-suite bathrooms.

The Students’ Union is well known for its facilities and vibrancy. There are a number of bars, two shops, numerous catering outlets and a Job shop. There are over 100 clubs and societies and a large Student Support Centre to provide advice on anything from financial hardship to housing.
