The mission of Finance and Planning is to support the University in achieving its stated aims and objectives by the provision of an effective and efficient support service embracing the management of its finances and the management and operation of its estate.

Financial Strategy

The University's Financial Strategy provides a framework to underpin its academic and allied aspirations and ensure resources are available to achieve the objectives of its Corporate Strategy.

The staff in Finance and Planning contribute to these strategies by providing the following services:

• A modern financial management information system - Agresso
• Management accounting and planning advice and support
• Preparation of statutory financial statements, returns and grant and other claims
• Exchequer services, including cash, debt collection and accounts payable functions
• Risk management with support from the Risk Management Team
• Insurances
• Endowments and Investments
• Full Economic Costing Service
• A Procurement Unit
• A Planning, Projects and Performance Unit
