Coming to Senate House: Transport Links
Arriving by Car
We recommend that you travel to the central precinct by public transport if possible.
Traffic conditions are often busy and congested and parking may be difficult to find, so please leave plenty of time for your journey.
Please note that the central precinct is within the Congestion Charge zone.
There are no public car parking facilities at Senate House, but there are NCP
facilities nearby at Woburn Place & Bloomsbury Place.
Arriving by Tube
The central precinct is well served by the London underground services. The nearest underground stations are:
Arriving by Rail
Euston, King’s Cross and St Pancras stations are all within walking distance. Other London mainline stations are a short tube, bus or taxi ride away.
Travelling by Bus

Cycling
If you are a cyclist, traffic in the area of the central precinct is invariably busy but there are cycle lanes in most areas.
Arriving by Air
If you are arriving in London by air to London Heathrow, the Heathrow Express service departs at 15 minute intervals, taking approximately 15 minutes reach London Paddington. You will need to leave additional time for onward tube, bus or taxi travel to the central precinct area. If you are in a hurry, please note that tickets may be purchased on the train, but are cheaper if purchased prior to boarding.
Those with more time may prefer to take the less expensive option of the tube service on the Piccadilly Line from Heathrow to Russell Square, located close to our offices at Senate House, which takes approximately 45 minutes.
If you are arriving in London by air to London Gatwick, the Gatwick Express service departs at 15 minute intervals, taking approximately 30 minutes to reach London Victoria. You will need to leave additional time for onward tube, bus, or taxi travel to the central precinct area. Tickets may be purchased on board the Gatwick Express train at the same price. Those with more time may prefer to take alternative rail services from Gatwick at less cost.
