Applications from family members for advertised vacancies should be treated identically to all other applications for the post.

Normal employment policy and procedures should be applied and family members should neither benefit unfairly nor suffer unusual detriment as a result of their relationship. 

2.2
Where it is unavoidable for a family member to be involved in decisions affecting the employment, evaluation or payment of another family member, their interest should be formally declared and such decisions must be reviewed independently by a suitable non family member.

In any case of doubt, please do contact Human Resources in good time to ensure that, in any particular case, we are able to demonstrate that the appropriate procedures were followed and that all cases are treated fairly and openly.
