Gym & Swimming Pool
As a staff member you will be able to gain associate membership to University of London Union (ULU) which will allow access to a fully equipped gym, the largest swimming pool in London and numerous fitness classes.

Employees and their families can benefit from discounted private health insurance from Chase Templeton.
Welfare and Health
Employees can benefit from confidential counselling services through Empathy; Free eye tests for VDU users and help towards the purchase of glasses. During work hours employees can also use the Gower Street health care drop in centre.

Annual Leave
Six weeks paid leave per annum for staff in academic and related grades, and five weeks paid leave per annum for staff in other grades.
Public & University Closure Days
The University is normally closed six days per year in addition to Statutory and Public holidays; one day either side of Easter and the remainder between Christmas and New Year.

The University has its own sunken gardens in Malet Street which are located opposite the main Senate House entrance. The Gardens are for the use of staff during the summer months.

Training and Wider Educational Opportunities
Gaining educational and professional qualifications is a vital part of training and development. Employees undergo an annual development review and are offered appropriate advice and encouragement in their pursuit of relevant qualifications.
E-Learning
The University is proud of its virtual learning environment where E-learning courses provide a self-paced and interactive approach to learning. There is no need to attend a class on a particular day/time as employees can choose to undertake training at any time via the use of their computer.
Travel to Work

Bike Loans
Permanent staff and those employees on fixed-term contracts with a duration of one or more years may apply for an interest free advance of salary towards the cost of a bicycle for all or part of their journey to work.
Cyclescheme
The University, in partnership with Cyclescheme, enables employees to get a tax free bicycle through the scheme. Cyclescheme is the UK’s number one administrator for the Government's Green Transport Plan Initiative. Cyclescheme is partnered with around 1500 independent bike shops throughout the UK.
Season Ticket Loan
Employees, on a fixed term or permanent contract, may apply for an interest free loan to cover the cost of a season ticket (for tube and rail travel and certain privately-operated coach services).
