Emma Burns is the Head of HR Strategy for the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) Group.  She has responsibility for defining, shaping and delivering the global HR strategy and proposition for almost 155,000 people in over 45 countries.

Before her current role she worked as Business Manager to the Group HR director through one of the most significant periods of change for the Bank and the Financial Services sector. She also previously held a variety of roles within RBS Insurance including Head of Business Support, leading the HR consultancy and Programme Office teams, and a number of HR Business Partner roles.

Before joining RBS, Emma worked for Coca-Cola Enterprises and Vodafone, also performing HR Business Partner roles.

Emma has a Masters Degree in Human Resource Management from Newcastle University and an MA Honours degree in International Business Studies, French and Spanish from Heriot-Watt University. She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
