How to apply

To apply to a taster course you must first search for your taster courses using the Taster Course Search.  Instructions on how to apply to a taster course will be stated next to “How to apply” in the individual taster course details.

You can apply to the majority of the taster courses through our website by adding them to your basket.  You may apply to up to three courses through our website.

For taster courses where you are instructed to apply through their university institution directly, please follow the instructions and link given in the taster course details.

When applying to taster courses through our website, once you have selected all your courses you must complete the online application form by selecting ‘Apply now’ on the Taster Course Search page.

Please make sure your school or college is aware of your application, and that you complete all sections on the form before submitting it.

ONLY APPLY FOR A COURSE THAT YOU CAN DEFINITELY ATTEND.  If you are unable to attend the course please contact us and let us know immediately. Many courses have long waiting lists; please do not deny other students the opportunity.  If you applied to a taster course directly through the individual university, then please contact them directly to cancel your place.

Applications will be acknowledged by email. It is vital when applying that you provide a correct and current email address in order to receive information regarding your application and any course/s you have successfully gained a place on.

Deadline for applications
Applications for each course close two working days prior to the course taking place.  We cannot guarantee application forms submitted after this time will be processed.

Allocation of places
Places are generally allocated on a ‘first-come, first-served basis’ where possible.  For oversubscribed courses the allocation of places may take longer.  If you apply for a place on a course that is full, information on alternative courses will be provided.

Received applications
Applications through our website will be acknowledged by email. When applying, it is vital that you provide a correct and current email address in order to receive information regarding your application and any course/s you have successfully gained a place on.

If you have not received an acknowledgement three weeks before the course commences please contact us to check that your application has been received.

Cancelling your place on a course
If you realise you cannot attend a courses after gaining a place, please contact us and let us know immediately.  Many courses have long waiting lists; please do not deny other students the opportunity by unnecessarily cancelling last minute.

Unregistered guests

As the courses are designed to provide a university experience they are not suitable for parents, or unregistered friends.  Parents and friends are invited to Open Days (please contact individual institutions for more information).
