Sickness Self Certification

From 25 January 2016, self-certification will now be an online process for absences up to an including the first calendar 7 days. The sickness recorded electronically through MyView will capture key data currently recorded on the paper self-certificate form. This removes the need to complete a paper form as it would be a duplication of the existing process.

When you return to work following absence due to sickness, you can submit your form to HR by logging into MyView via the Sickness Self Cert menu on the left hand side of the screen.

Once submitted, your immediate line manager will be notified of the absence but not reason.

For absences over 7 calendar days HR will still require a “Fit Note” from your GP or Doctor.
