The Vice-Chancellor's Circle is an exclusive community of philanthropists who make substantial regular gifts to the University. These gifts enable us to continue to deliver our world class education and ensure that it remains open to all.

Give your time

We value your time and expertise just as much as a financial gift, and there are a number of ways that you can support the University, for instance by mentoring a student or recent graduate, acting as an University ambassador, or helping start or manage an alumni group.

We’re working to make it easier for you to see all the opportunities and sign up online. In the meantime, if you’d like to get involved, email Holly Peterson or telephone her on +44 (0)20 7862 8013 to discuss your interest.

Payroll Giving

You can also make a regular gift to the University of London, or any of our central academic bodies, through payroll giving.

Payroll giving enables you to make a donation directly from your gross salary. It is the most tax-efficient method of making charitable donations. The scheme is available to those working for UK employers.

Example: Payroll gift of £20 per month.

  • Donor’s monthly pledge: £20
  • Cost to basic rate taxpayer (20%): £16
  • Cost to higher rate taxpayer (40%): £12

Anyone paid through Pay As You Earn can use payroll giving to donate to the University, but your employer must have payroll giving in place in order for you to make a donation in this way.

To make a payroll gift, ask your employer whether your organisation offers payroll giving. If it does, your payroll administrator will make arrangements for your gift to come to the University of London from your gross pay.

If you have any questions about giving to the University of London, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help.
