What is a taster course?
They are short courses organised by various universities in London to provide Year 12 students, or equivalent, the opportunity to experience life at university before making their UCAS application.
The courses cover a range of subjects within the Arts and Humanities, Business and Computing, Engineering, Language and Culture, Medicine and Medical Related Courses, Sciences and Social Sciences.

When do the taster courses take place and how long are they?
The taster courses take place at various times between February and July. The courses run from half-a-day to a week.

What are the benefits of attending these courses?
Not only do the courses offer you an insight into study at university, but they also offer the opportunity of attending a course that you may be interested in, but are not sure about at this stage.
The experience will also enable you to check out the non-teaching facilities provided by the university as well as the chance to meet with other students on the taster course and undergraduate students studying at the university.
Do I have to stay overnight at the University?
No. The courses are non-residential.
Will I have to pay to attend a Taster Course?
No. All courses are free of charge, although students are responsible for their own travel and food expenses.

Applications can be made by completing and submitting our online application form which will be available on this website from January 2013.
