They are short courses organised by universities in London to provide Year 12 students, or equivalent, the opportunity to experience life at university before making their UCAS application.

The courses cover a range of subjects within the Arts and Humanities, Business and Computing, Engineering, Language and Culture, Medicine and Medical Related Courses, Sciences and Social Sciences.

The courses cover a range of subjects within the Arts and Humanities, Business and Computing, Engineering, Language and Culture, Medicine and Medical Related Courses, Sciences and Social Sciences.

In 2010 there were over 160 taster courses in over 70 different subject areas.  To get an idea of the types of courses on offer, all the taster courses from last year are listed in the London Taster Course Programme brochure.

The London Taster Course Programme welcomes other universities in London to participate and run taster courses through the programme.  For further details on how to participate please contact us.

 

The taster courses take place at various times between February and July. The courses run from half-a-day to a week.

A complete list of taster courses taking place in 2011 and our online application form will be available on this website www.london.ac.uk/tasters from January 2011.

 

Not only do the courses offer you an insight into study at university, but they also offer the opportunity of attending a course that you may be interested in, but are not sure about at this stage.

The experience will also enable you to check out the non-teaching facilities provided by the university as well as the chance to meet with other students on the taster course and undergraduate students studying at the university.
