Alumni and Friends

Welcome to the University of London

We support and provide ways for our alumni and friends to get involved in the life of the University.

Our goal is to ensure that the University can continue to fulfil its mission to ‘make a unique contribution to learning and research-led scholarship through our unrivalled network of member institutions, our global reach and reputation, and the breadth of our high-quality innovative academic services and infrastructure.’  All our work supports this goal, and includes ensuring that our worldwide network of 2,000,000 alumni can access our world-class services such as Student Central, Senate House Library, the Careers Group and also our network of alumni groups around the world.

About Us
The University of London was established by Royal Charter in 1836 and its autonomous independent member institutions are recognised globally, in their own right, as world leaders in Higher Education. The central University hosts one of the world’s most prestigious research libraries and a national
School of Advanced Study focussing on the Arts and Humanities. The central University also has responsibility for over 52,000 international students studying inter-collegiate programmes in over 180 counties worldwide.

Through these bodies, the University of London offers almost every subject covered in any university curriculum, and provides access to education in London and in all corners of the globe. Read more about the history of the University.

The Development Office was established in 2015 to serve the growing needs of this original international university.  We act as a link between the University and our alumni, supporters and friends, as well as the public who wish to engage with or support the University.  If you would like to support the University, please contact us for more details.

You can also join us for one of our many events to learn more about our research.
