City, University of London

City, University of London is a leading global university (among the top 5% of universities in the world) and is committed to academic excellence and focused
on business and the professions. The origins of City date to 1894, when the
Northampton Institute was established with the support of several City of London livery companies and many of them remain supporters of City today.

Why study with us?
City is a vibrant university, with around 19,500 students from over 150 countries. It has five Schools, the Sir John Cass Business School, the City Law School, the School of Health Sciences, the School of Mathematics, Computer Science & Engineering and the School of Arts & Social Sciences.
Research is at the heart of City’s academic activities. Our academic staff seek to advance knowledge and bring value to society. 75% of City’s submission to the most recent Research Excellence Framework was rated as being of worldleading (23%) or internationally excellent (52%) quality. City is the top university in London for student satisfaction (NSS 2015). We provide students with opportunities for direct interaction with employers and many courses have innovative placement opportunities and high-profile visiting lecturers. This emphasis on employability contributes to City’s place in the top 10 in the UK for graduate salaries (The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide League Table 2014).

Facilities
Our academic facilities have been designed to help students prepare for their future careers and include financial dealing rooms, clinical laboratories and journalism studios. City’s halls of residence, located near the main University
buildings in Islington, offer excellent value. Our award winning Student Centre helps students find accommodation and advises on areas including learning support and finance. City has a lively social scene with the new CityBar and a wide range of clubs and societies. In 2015 the University opened CitySport, the largest student sports facility in central London.
