The consultation closed on Friday 27 May 2005
In February 2005, the Vice-Chancellor launched a consultation examining the ways in which the federal University of London can be strengthened to the benefit of the Colleges and their staff and students. The consultation paper suggested a framework for the future, which took into account both the structure of the University of London today and the evolving demands of the higher education landscape, both nationally and globally. It explored the values and ethos of the University, as well as examining the role and provision of centrally-provided services.

Views on issues raised in the consultation paper were invited from the Colleges, from committees and from individuals in the University.
A paper setting out a preliminary analysis of the responses received was considered by the Heads of Colleges Committee and the University Council in June 2005. The recommendations made in the paper will be explored further during the academic year 2005-6.
