Central Research Fund

About the Fund

The Central Research Fund was established in 1937 and has since given substantial aid to many members of the University working on research projects.  More information about the Fund can be found in the 'Information Sheet' which is part of the application package. 

The Application Package

The application package for Central Research Fund grants for 2009/2010 consists of the following documents.

Please note that the Committee has asked that applicants should limit their responses to the spaces provided on the form, i.e. to a four page form only.

The attention of postgraduate research student applicants is drawn to the policy statement set out in Section 3 of the Information Sheet.

Please note that the Committee requires applicants to submit concise details about their projects on the form provided. Supplementary sheets will not normally be circulated to members. The Committee also requests applicants to complete the form in point 12 typeface.

Closing dates

The closing dates for applications during the 2009/2010 session will be:-

  • 9 October 2009 (Autumn Term)
  • 12 March 2010 (Summer Term)

In no circumstances will applications be accepted after the closing date. Notification of the outcome of applications will be in writing towards the end of December for the Autumn Term and about the middle of June for the Summer Term.
