Vice-Chancellor term of office extended

The University of London is pleased to announce that Sir Adrian Smith has agreed to extend his term as Vice-Chancellor for a further period of at least one year.  Sir Adrian has served a five year term since August 2012.

The decision to extend Sir Adrian’s term was unanimously agreed by the Board of Trustees following a recommendation of a special Joint Appointments Committee convened to consider the matter.  Commenting on the extension Sir Richard Dearlove, Chair of the Board of Trustees said “Sir Adrian has done an outstanding job in the last five years, steering the University on a clear strategy which has enhanced our reputation and delivered growth. The Board and I look forward to working with him as we continue on this successful trajectory.”

Sir Adrian said “I am delighted to continue as Vice-Chancellor at the University.  I feel that much has been achieved but there are many more opportunities ahead and I look forward to working with the Board and the staff at the University in realising those ambitions.”
