Board of Trustees

This is the governing body of the University, who exercise guardianship over assets and resources, ensuring their effective management, control and use.

In line with the Committee of University Chairs’ Higher Education Code of Governance, the Board of Trustees has agreed on a Statement of Primary Responsibilities. They should be read in conjunction with Statute 10 and Ordinance 1 which set out in detail the Board’s functions.

The board is made up of 17 members:

Rosalyn (Ros) Wilton has had a distinguished career spanning four decades during which she has held many high profile executive and non-executive positions.

Andrew Halper

Andrew Halper

Andrew is a consultant on China-related matters. In 2016 he joined the Board of Trustees of the UK Refugee Council, becoming Chair of the Council in October 2016. He also serves as a magistrate in London.

Andrew Ratcliffe spent his career as an audit engagement partner with PwC leading a variety of large international audit engagements in a range of industries

Craig Hassall

Craig Hassall

Since 2017, Craig Hassall has been Chief Executive of the Royal Albert Hall, one of the world’s busiest and most loved performance venues. Prior to this, he was CEO of Opera Australia, Australia’s largest performing arts organisation, with over 600 opera performances a year, including two mainstage opera seasons in Sydney and Melbourne, Opera on Sydney Harbour, musical theatre, concerts and national touring.

Christopher Rossbach is a Co-Founder, Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer of J. Stern & Co., a private investment partnership based in London and Zurich. Chris is also the portfolio manager of the Firm’s World Stars Global Equity Fund.

Jane is a senior partner at global law firm Clyde & Co where she has worked since graduating from Exeter University and completing the Law Society exams in 1974

Kavita Reddi

Kavita Reddi

Kavita Reddi is the co-founder of Voxta - an AI voice bot startup helping organisations engage users in the UK and India. Before Voxta, she worked at the BBC for 15 years.

Kieran is a director of University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, where he chairs the investment committee.

Patrick Dunne

Patrick Dunne

Since 2017, Patrick has been Chief Property, Facilities & Procurement Officer at Sainsbury’s plc with responsibility for all the group's procurement and extensive property portfolio across Sainsbury’s, Habitat and Argos. Previously he was global SVP, Chief Property & Procurement Officer at Walgreens Boots Alliance from 2007 to 2017. His role at Sainsbury’s has been to lead a programme of procurement-led business change, challenging the traditional role of the company’s procurement division from a service provider into a major value-adding contributor to the bottom-line as well as developing and leading the next generation of the group’s property strategy.

Professor Colin Bailey is currently the President and Principal of Queen Mary University of London, a Russell Group University with a history dating back to 1785.  The University has 32,000 students, over 5,400 staff and a turnover of c.£630m. He is an internationally recognised Chartered Structural, Civil and Fire Engineer who has authored more than 140 research papers and practical design guides.

Professor Frances Corner OBE is Warden of Goldsmiths, University of London. She is the academic and administrative leader of the university and the first woman to take on the role since Goldsmiths was founded.

Please note: Some papers for consideration by the Board of Trustees/Collegiate Council, and sections of the recorded minutes, may be withheld from publication under the exemptions provided in the Freedom of Information Act 2000. A provisional exemption will be applied in the preparation of the minutes and referenced in the text. In the event of a request being made for information withheld in the published minutes, the University will take the required steps around the exemption, such as carrying out a public interest test, in making its response in accordance with the Act.
