The Careers Group, University of London, has been providing careers services to universities for over 100 years and is the largest higher education careers and employability service in Europe.
The Careers Group exists to ensure that each member careers service is the best it can be strategically and operationally, benefiting fully from the collaborative activities of The Careers Group whilst also ensuring that it maximises its unique institutional offering. The Careers Group also strives to be a thought and practice leader within the sector, focused on evidence-based innovation within the employability landscape.
About The Careers Group
Founded in 1909 as part of the University of London’s Appointments Board, The Careers Group has been providing careers services to universities for over 100 years. The largest higher education careers and employability service in Europe, with over 200 staff members in a range of roles relating to careers, The Careers Group is recognised as a centre of excellence in relation to careers and employability support for HE students and graduates.
The Careers Group is a membership organisation consisting of a range of higher education careers services, supported by a small central team within the University of London. Many of our colleagues are based permanently in colleges, working in university careers service alongside locally employed careers and employability staff to support students, recent graduates and early careers research staff.
The Careers Group is the only higher education careers service with its own in-house Professional Development team and Research Units. The Professional Development team offers courses, webinars and programmes that are related to the training needs and interests of careers service staff. The Careers Group Research team is dedicated to creating and disseminating research into current employability issues, ensuring our staff are up to date with the latest research and policy developments in employability and supporting them to undertake their own research to foster a culture of evidence-based practice.
