Alumni library membership
Retired academic staff and individuals who graduated with a degree from the University of London, or from one of the 17 independent federation members of the University of London, can apply for alumni membership.
Membership details
Alumni membership comes with the option of free reference access to the Library or a paid borrowing membership with a 10 book borrowing allowance. Both options include off-site access to a range of eResources on the Alumni A-Z list of databases.
Please note, the eResources are for private study and non-commercial research only.

How to join
Register your details in the form below and bring your proof of graduation and photographic ID and current proof of address to the Library to complete your membership. The membership desk is open Monday to Saturday during staffed hours. Please note that we only accept card payments.
If you do not have a graduation certificate, transcript, or alumni card as proof of graduation, the University of London Development Office may be able to help you with alternative verification. You can contact them for further details by emailing development@london.ac.uk.
Renew online
To renew your alumni borrowing membership online, please choose the 3 month or 1 year alumni membership option, and we will process your membership renewal. If you would like to renew your alumni reference membership, please contact shl.membership@london.ac.uk.
