A federation of excellence

The University of London consists of 17 independent federation members with outstanding global reputations for teaching and research.

All of the degrees offered through the University of London are developed by our federation members. They provide the academic direction, prepare all your study materials and assess the degrees.

That means wherever you are in the world, you are accessing the same outstanding quality of education, and will be examined to the same high standard, as those studying in London.

These consistently high standards mean our qualifications are valued and recognised around the world.

Study anywhere in the world

The University of London is proud of its reputation as the world’s oldest provider of degrees through distance and flexible learning. When you study with us, you will join a network of more than 45,000 students in 190 countries around the world.

Choosing to study one of our world-class degrees online is much more affordable than coming to London to study on campus. With no relocation or accommodation costs, it represents great value for money.

Online learning also offers you the flexibility to study around your lifestyle. If you need to travel for any reason, you simply take your studies with you.

We have more than 500 exam centres based all around the world, so you can take your exams in your home country.

And when you graduate you can choose between attending our prestigious London graduation ceremony, presided over by the University of London's Chancellor, HRH the Princess Royal, or one of our many international graduation ceremonies.

Degrees designed around you

We aim to give you the flexibility to make your experience with us both rewarding and successful.

Our outstanding online learning options offer you the flexibility to study independently, at your own pace, using our study materials. If you want to continue working full time, you can manage your studies to fit in with your own schedule and spread your payments out across the duration of your degree.

If you prefer the benefits of face-to-face teaching and classroom support, you can choose to pay for tuition at a local independent institution. The University of London currently works with a growing network of 70-plus Recognised Teaching Centres worldwide. Classes may be available on a full or part-time basis, including evenings and weekends.

A nurturing experience for all

Independent study doesn’t mean you’re on your own. Our Student Life team is committed to providing a nurturing and enriching experience for all students, beyond their degree.

We will give you a warm welcome with our comprehensive online induction and our student mentors are available to give you extra support and encouragement whenever you need it.

The team organises a number of events, initiatives and online resources to give you the best possible preparation for your future career. As well as providing employability advice and tips, they also offer support for undergraduate students who are interested in completing a business placement.

The University of London is committed to making all aspects of university life accessible and supporting equality, diversity and inclusion in all that we do.
