BSc Business Administration - Structure and modules

The BSc Business Administration consists of:

Four Stage 1 modules (FHEQ Level 4)
Four Stage 2 modules (FHEQ Level 5), including a choice of one module,
Four Stage 3 modules (FHEQ Level 6), including a choice of three modules.

Modules are released from April 2022 onwards, and thereafter will run in either the April or October session each year. Please refer to the module availability schedule [PDF] for full details.

Stage 1 - four compulsory modules

Foundations of quantitative methods for sustainable organisations (Online taught)

This module aims to familiarise students with quantitative studies and how they are and can be employed in management, economics and for sustainable business.

Stage 2 - three compulsory modules

Employability and human resource management (Online taught)

This module introduces you to career development and human resource management.

Strategic management and accounting (Online taught)

This module introduces strategy and the use of accounting information by managers in organisations.

Operations management and marketing strategy (Online taught)

This module examines operations management and marketing strategy.

Plus one optional Stage 2 module

Managing organisational change and performance (Online taught)

This module examines organisational change, management practices and research examining motivation and performance.

The global economy and multinational enterprise (Online taught)

This module provides an overview of the growth and development of the global economy during the twentieth century.

Stage 3 – one compulsory module

Integrating management: business, leadership and innovation (Online taught)

This module draws together all your learning over the entire programme.

Plus three optional Stage 3 modules

Brands, branding and advertising (Online taught)

This module develops a critical understanding of branding and provides you with a strategic perspective on contemporary marketing communication.

International human resource management (Online taught)

This module examines practical examples and the latest research in human resource management (HRM).

The individual at work and globalisation (Online taught)

Gain an overview of contemporary subjects of interest in the field of organisational behaviour and examine the impact of globalisation on work.

Emerging markets and Asia Pacific business (Online taught)

This module examines emerging markets’ commercial realities and national cultures within the context of a global economy.
