Designing a Training Plan to Drive Digital Change in Higher Education
Designing a Training Plan to Drive Digital Change in Higher Education
Brought to you by the Centre for Online and Distance Education and the Bloomsbury Learning Exchange this interactive workshop is for anyone involved in delivering digital change in higher education.
Led by Izzy Simonet, Learning Consultant Lead at LSE’s Digital Skills Lab, this session explores how to design tailored, people-centred training plans that support real digital change. Using the rollout of Generative AI tools as a case study, participants will explore the challenges and opportunities of engaging different audiences—professional services staff, academics, and students—in meaningful, lasting ways.
Too often, training is treated as an afterthought. But without a clear, targeted plan, even the best digital tools can fail to take root. A good training strategy not only builds skills—it builds confidence, momentum, and buy-in.
You’ll take part in collaborative group activities, including stakeholder mapping and barrier analysis, followed by the co-design of tailored training strategies. Along the way, you’ll be guided by expert facilitation and research insights.
What to expect:
- A practical, in-person hands-on workshop format
- Tools and templates you can adapt to your own context
- Peer learning and discussion
- An evidence-based approach to training strategy design
Whether you’re working directly with learners or shaping institutional change, this session will leave you with a fresh framework—and plenty of inspiration—for making training a key driver of digital transformation.
