Physically Active Education (PAE): A Holistic Approach to Sustainable Development in Africa, is co-authored by CODE fellow Dr Oscar Mwaanga. It offers a timely and transformative perspective on embedding Physically Active Education into African education systems. It addresses the growing challenges of sedentary lifestyles, rising non-communicable diseases, and widening education-health disparities—particularly in the post-pandemic context. In it, the authors explore how integrating academic learning with physical activity can enhance cognitive performance, promote health, and support both the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the African Union’s Sports Policy Framework 2030.

Physically Active Education (PAE): A Holistic Approach to Sustainable Development in Africa is published in Sport, Development and Peace: Critical Global Challenges, published by Palgrave Macmillan.
