This module introduces students to the way pathogens (viruses, bacteria, fungi, protozoa, helminths) invade, establish, cause disease and evade the immune response in the vertebrate host.
This is a compulsory core module for those on the Infectious Diseases programmes.

2hr 15 unseen written paper examination (100%).
If students fail the module overall, they are allowed one further attempt at the examination.
