Global Logistics and Transport Management

The aim of this module is to provide you with an in-depth knowledge of the requirements for designing and managing global logistics.

You will evaluate different modes of transport according to their capabilities, advantages and drawbacks and analyse the role information technology and services in global logistics networks. Issues of sustainability, risk assessment, transportation assessment and warehousing operations performance will be addressed.

Coursework (30% weighting) - An individual report of 2500 words on the analysis of the strategic and operational implications of configuring a global logistics network.

Examination (70% weighting) - A two-hour unseen written examination. The questions will be based on the topics covered in the module and through the assigned readings.

Pass Mark - To pass this module you must get a mark of at least 50% in each element of assessment, subject to the application of rules for compensation. Please see the programme regulations for more information.
