What we offer to our students
Our Careers Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) has careers resources relevant to you, including a digital careers toolbox featuring an AI-powered CV/Resume and covering letter checker, plus digital platforms to help improve your interview skills. The VLE also outlines how to display ten core employability skills which you can develop through your studies and wider experiences.
In our VLE, you can enhance your employability at your own pace by completing short courses called career micro-modules. Our Career Planning and Professional Impact, Profile, and Success and Global Employability Skills micro-modules are designed to fit around your studies and appear on your degree transcript when you have successfully completed them.
We offer a comprehensive programme of live careers education webinars to enhance your job-hunting and career management skills led by our experienced Careers Consultants, and if you miss a session, we have an on-demand library of recordings. You can also participate in live group career coaching sessions where you can ask questions about your career plans.
Grow your network by engaging with our Alumni and Employer events. These events provide valuable insights into various industries and sectors, and feature speakers from around the world. Previous sessions have featured discussions on how to get into a range of different sectors and professions and explored future trends in work and how you can navigate this.
Our Careers Connect platform is where you can book careers events, discover job vacancies, and explore employer events relevant to your career development. You can also explore micro-courses covering essential topics such as how to improve your CV and develop your interview skills.
We work closely with our students to co-create your career support. We run regular feedback sessions with groups of students and often invite current students to share their experiences with their peers. You can learn about the career journeys of current University of London students and Alumni by tuning into our Global Careers Calls podcast, featuring interviews and connect with the University of London Careers Service on LinkedIn to expand your professional network and build relationships with current students and alumni from around the world, as well as keep up to date with events and labour market trends.
