Dulmini
Dulmini was awarded the Ede & Ravenscroft Scholarship which allowed her to pursue a Bachelors of Law degree (LLB) at the University of London.

Since childhood, Dulmini dreamed of practising Law, just as her father had. In 2016, Dulmini was awarded the Ede & Ravenscroft Scholarship which allowed her to pursue a Bachelors of Law degree (LLB) at the University of London. She describes this as one of the two proudest moments of her life, the other was the day she passed her LLB, receiving first class honours and finishing in the top 21 in her class.
Dulmini explains that the scholarship eased the financial burden of Higher Education and allowed her to focus entirely on her programme, setting her up for the great success she has experienced early on in her career.
She goes on to say that her University of London degree was an important first step on the legal career path “not only because of the ranking of the University, having the best lecturers, the use of interactive study methods, the quality and standard of exams, but also securing a job as a Legal Research Officer in the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka as soon as I completed the degree is the best example of job security for University of London graduates. Given the high recognition for alumni in the legal sector around the world, I will forever be very proud to call myself an alumnus of the University of London”.
Dulmini reveals that receiving the scholarship pushed her to work hard and demonstrate her gratitude by achieving top marks: “I believe that I in return have expressed my gratitude by making Ede and Ravenscroft, the University of London, my parents, myself and the whole country proud by securing a world rank”.
The generosity of scholarship donors opens up new possibilities for students and provides them with the chance to fulfil their dreams of a University education, as well as giving them the time to dedicate themselves to their studies.
Reflecting on her experience, Dulmini said: “I am forever grateful for the opportunity I was given. I also believe that there are many deserving students around the world who are capable of doing better with the additional support of a scholarship, just as I did.”
