MBA

MBA: six core modules, any four optional modules, Strategic Project.
Postgraduate Diploma: four core modules, any four other modules.
Postgraduate Certificate: two core modules, any two other modules.
Postgraduate Certificate with specialism: three optional modules from the same specialism, any one other module.

Specialist awards

To gain a specialist award, at least three of your optional modules (and the Strategic Project for the MBA) must be from within the same specialism.

Accounting for managers

Entrepreneurial finance and private equity

This module will provide an understanding of how a firm's financial information can be used to obtain funding (credit bearing).

Entrepreneurial marketing

Explore marketing from an entrepreneurial perspective, focusing on the different approaches required for established firms and new ventures (credit bearing).

Innovation and change

This module equips the participants with the knowledge and skills to manage innovation in today’s rapidly evolving global marketplace (credit bearing).

Venture capital and entrepreneurship

Examine how funding is obtained from venture capital firms by entrepreneurs, and how business professionals make and manage investments (credit bearing).

International corporate finance for managers

Explore how firms fund themselves, how they choose between different types of finance and how those financing decisions influence investments (credit bearing).

International financial markets and institutions

This module introduces students to international transactions and the role of foreign exchange markets (credit bearing).

Portfolio management

This module focuses on investment decision-making and improved portfolio management from an applied perspective (credit bearing).

Risk management and decision-making

The module takes an applied perspective, focussing on decision-making in risky environments, which is of importance to the finance industry (credit bearing).

Healthcare systems

Gain the necessary knowledge and skills to evaluate healthcare systems and make meaningful comparisons between different delivery approaches.

Innovation and quality improvement

Examine quality in healthcare, how it can be measured and how quality improvement might effectively be adopted into the culture of everyday.

Resource management in healthcare

This module provides an introduction to financial and human resources management in healthcare organisations.

Risk, governance and patient safety

This module provides students with an understanding of risk and governance as it applies to healthcare organisations and systems.

Corporate finance law

A critical view of current global legal developments and trends, identifying the most salient legal issues involved in corporate finance (credit bearing).

Corporate governance and ethics

This module covers issues affecting both the business community and the wider societal effects of the debate on corporate governance (credit bearing).

International finance law: transactions, policy, and regulation

This module provides students with a multidimensional understanding of the core issues in international finance transactions (credit bearing).

Legal aspects of financing development

This module examines the legal framework underpinning the flow of different sources of external capital to developing countries (credit bearing).

Leadership and ethical decision making

This module is a capstone project involving the development of business research skills and their application to real world business related problems.

As a Global MBA student, you have CMI membership for the duration of your registration.
Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA)
If you successfully complete the specialist MBA in Accountancy, you become eligible to sit the CIMA Master’s Gateway exam.
