Indian higher education leaders visit the University of London
The University of London worked with the British Council to host a delegation of education experts from India.
This week saw the Education World Forum in London, bringing together hundreds of ministers and education leaders from around the world to discuss policy and practice in a series of plenaries, parallel sessions, and visits.
As part of this, the University was delighted to work with the British Council to host a delegation from India. The 11-strong group comprised senior teams from three states, including the Minister of Education of Assam; the Director of Higher Education, Maharashtra; and the Chairman of Telangana State Higher Education Council.
The visit focused on the key building blocks for quality online and distance higher education: programme design for student success, quality assurance and enhancement, student engagement and support, and careers and employability provision.
A number of areas of focus were agreed, including training for university faculty, and scoping engagement with the University’s Centre for Online and Distance Education.

"The University of London’s engagement with India goes back more than 100 years, and our strong links have offered many generations of young people the opportunity to use their UoL degrees to thrive professionally and contribute to societal advancement in many spheres.
"This week’s visit has given us the opportunity to discuss ways to extend and deepen our engagement, and we look forward to scoping this further with our colleagues in India."
