As part of our ongoing British Academy Modern Languages Outreach project, we are delighted to invite you to this taster session in Modern Languages, co-hosted by Queen Mary University London (QMUL) and University of London Institute in Paris (ULIP). The event will focus in particular on recent debates around decolonizing the curriculum and the politics of education, exploring how Aimé Césaire overturns the master / slave discourse of Empire. The sessions will look at French and German materials, but translations will also be provided, and no prior knowledge of the language is necessary to take part. The event is primarily designed for sixth form students, but we warmly welcome students of any age.
