The Government is committed to ‘levelling-up’ the UK, by tackling inequality and disadvantage between regions and within them. But it’s not clear what place London has in this agenda.
To address this challenge, the London Research and Policy Partnership hosted series of roundtables exploring how we can best ensure that levelling-up works for the country as a whole, including London. What role can the capital play in tackling regional inequalities? And how can national policy best support London’s ‘left behind’ residents and communities?
The roundtables featured a series of expert presentations followed by discussions. These will form the basis for a series of online papers as well as provide an evidence-base for Mayoral policy and for submissions to government consultations.
