Join us on Wednesday 18 June at the Senate House to mark Windrush Day 2025 with a special conversation featuring community leader and advocate Paulette Simpson CBE.
This timely event will explore the legacy and continued impact of the Windrush Generation — from its role in shaping modern Britain to the injustices and resilience that define its recent history.
Paulette Simpson brings a unique and vital perspective to this conversation. As Executive Director of The Voice Media Group and a long-standing advocate for Black British communities, she has been at the forefront of cultural, political and media efforts to amplify Caribbean-British voices and ensure meaningful change.
She will be in conversation with Professor Philip Murphy, Director of History & Policy, Institute of Historical Research, University of London.
About the speaker:
Paulette Simpson CBE is a prominent advocate, business leader and communicator with a long-standing commitment to social justice, community empowerment and cultural representation. She has held senior roles across business and media, including leadership within the Windrush Commemoration Committee.

This is a free event, which means we overbook to allow for no-shows and to avoid empty seats. While we generally do not have to turn people away, this does mean we cannot guarantee all ticket holders a place. Admission is on a first come, first served basis.
