London Alumni Reception - June 2018

In 2018 the University of London celebrated a year of exciting anniversaries. In 1858 we became the birthplace of long-distance learning, allowing students to study for degrees outside of London, spreading higher education across the globe. In 1868, nine women were admitted to the University of London. This was the first time in Britain that women had gained access to university education and this modest event was an immensely significant moment for the University, for women and for society as a whole.

As part of these celebrations, alumni and current students were invited to enjoy a reception in the beautiful and historic central London location for a unique night behind the castle walls. The evening began with the Yeomen Warders providing a private tour of the Jewel House, before guests enjoyed networking over a drinks reception.
