Shakespeare’s First Folio: Bringing the Book Alive
This enchanting evening brings together stars of stage and screen* to read excerpts from some of Shakespeare’s famous (and lesser known) works, interspersed with exciting new poems by contemporary poets. These readings will bring alive Shakespeare’s words and provide important context in which we also see how these historic works continue to speak to the ‘now’.
Join us to hear Samantha Bond, David Horovitch, Will Merrick, Joanna David, award-winning poet Daljit Nagra and Institute of English Studies Research Fellow, interdisciplinary researcher, poet and practitioner, Dr Yewande Okuleye read from these beloved texts.
The readings will be preceded by optional tours of the exhibition followed by a reception, with the chance to see one of our two original First Folios on display.
The event is now fully booked – to join the waiting list please email firstname.lastname@example.org
