In May 2021, Dr Richard Ashby delivered the culminating lecture of his Visiting Research Fellowship at Senate House Library. Hosted by the Friends of Senate House Library, this lecture explored Dr Richard Ashby's research into the collection of the ground-breaking 20th century theatre director, Harley Granville-Barker, who revolutionised the presentation of Shakespeare.

Dr Richard Ashby discussed Granville-Barker's thoughts and ideas, as revealed in the handwritten annotations made in his copies of Shakespeare's plays, and the discoveries that could lead to future research.
