Alistair Jarvis CBE appointed chair of London Higher’s Policy Network

Alistair Jarvis CBE, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Partnerships and Governance) is to become Chair of London Higher’s Policy Network.

With a new administration at City Hall and the upcoming general election, Alistair’s experience and expertise will help drive forward London Higher’s policy engagement, the organisation has announced.

Alistair Jarvis CBE is to become Chair of London Higher’s Policy Network. 

Alistair will work closely with Mark Corbett, Head of Policy and Networks at London Higher, and other members of the Policy Network, to engage effectively with the Greater London Authority (GLA) and other key stakeholders across the London and HE landscape. 

 

Prior to arriving at the University of London Alistair was CEO of Universities UK (UUK), where his role included influencing policy, strategy and member engagement. Before that, Alistair was Deputy CEO and Director of External Relations at UUK. He has also been a Director at the University of Birmingham and has held external engagement roles for national organisations.  

Alistair received a CBE in 2022 for services to Higher Education and supporting universities during the Covid-19 crisis. He is a member of the UCAS Board of Trustees and member of the advisory boards of Wonkhe, the UPP Foundation and the Discovery Decade project. Alistair was educated at the Universities of Kent, Leicester and the Institute of Education, UCL​.
