CODE fellow appointed as PVC Education Innovation
The Centre for Online and Distance Education (CODE) is delighted to announce that CODE fellow Professor Steven Warburton has been appointed as the Pro Vice-Chancellor Education Innovation at the University of Newcastle in Australia. Steven will be responsible for leading curricular development, student learning and teaching delivery there, all of which are pivotal in delivering an outstanding student experience.
Professor Warburton will be moving from the University of New England where he is currently Executive Principal Education Futures, leading a large division covering the core functions of digital education, academic quality, curriculum management and academic development. He has previously held positions at leading institutions in the UK, New Zealand and Australia. His achievements are focussed in the domain of digital transformation and the strategic deployment of technologies to enhance learning and teaching, including significant projects in online assessment, curriculum and learning management system deployment and he was one of the first fellows appointed to the Centre for Distance Education, as it was then called, in 2005.
