Dr Arun Verma receives honorary degree from University of Dundee
Dr Arun Verma, Head of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, has received an honorary degree from the University of Dundee.

Dr Verma received his award as Doctor of Laws honoris causa for his work and service to inclusion, intersectionality and anti-racism across higher education. He was one of six leading figures from science, law, medicine, sustainable energy, refugee rights, and inclusion and intersectionality to be honoured at the University’s summer graduation ceremonies.
Dr Verma holds a special connection to the University of Dundee having studied for his PhD there (2013-2018). Following the completion of his PhD, Dr Verma kept a close relationship with the University, and between March 2014 and July 2023 spent time as a tutor supporting Dundee students through their research projects. He also spent a short but impactful period as a lecturer where he specialised in leading international students through theory, practice and implementation of equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) within organisations.
Dr Verma said:
"I am incredibly thankful to have been conferred an honorary doctorate for my leadership and impact for inclusion and intersectionality across the higher education sector. Knowing that my leadership and work for more inclusive and equitable systems and society is having a significant impact and that it is being recognised with this honour means the absolute world."
