Dr Edouard Morena launches new book, Paysan

On 26 September 2024, Dr Edouard Morena, Senior Lecturer in International Politics and French Studies, launched his latest book, Paysan, published by Anamosa. In this book, Dr Morena builds on his previous research about French farmer movements and examines the meanings of the word "peasant" and how those meanings have changed over time. 

Even though the number of people working in agriculture in France has significantly decreased, Dr Morena highlights that the idea of the “peasant” continues to occupy an important place in contemporary French politics and society. His work encourages readers to consider how this concept continues to shape discussions about agriculture and rural life in France.
