Holocaust Memorial Day 2022
The University of London marked Holocaust Memorial Day with the lighting of Senate House in purple from dusk on the evening of Thursday 27 January 2022.
The day commemorates the six million Jews murdered by the Nazis, alongside the millions of other people killed under Nazi persecution (gay people, black people, Roma and Sinti people, physically and mentally disabled people) and those murdered in genocides that followed in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia, and Darfur.
The University of London remembers those who were murdered for who they were, and stands against prejudice and hatred in the world today.
