New Collections and Services in February 2020

This week, Senate House Library is rolling out new services to help you manage your library loans and adding over 30,000 books to expand our collections.

 

New Wellbeing Collection of over 100 books

Browse over 100 books, podcasts and online resources in our new Wellbeing Collection offering guidance on a wide range of issues that you, or someone you know, might be experiencing. It's all organised by theme, so it's easy to find and there's something for everyone...The books can be found in the new dedicated Wellbeing space on the 4th floor - next to the exit barriers.

Cutbill Collection of over 30,000 LGBT books gifted to Senate House Library 

We're delighted to have been gifted the remarkable book collection of over 30,000 books and archives from Jonathan Cutbill, one of the founders of the Gay's The Word Bookshop and leading LGBT rights activist. The collection which will help fill fundamental gaps in LGBT history has been packed up and is in transit from Cutbill's Shrewsbury home to Senate House Library where they will be catalogued and added to our collections this month. Manage loans more easily & reduce fines with the new Automated Renewals system

Senate House Library is rolling out a new Automated Renewals system for all 2 week and 4 week loan items to help you manage loans more easily and reduce library fines. Library Items which you have loaned will automatically renew twice before you need to renew manually. Reminders will be sent to you by email. 

If the item on loan to you is requested by another reader, you will need to return it to the Library by the due date stated on your account. Please visit the Automated Renewals webpage where you will find further details and FAQs.

New Self-Service Laptop Loans to help with your studies

Instead of carrying your own device from home to the Library you can borrow one of our new laptops while you're in the building. The new self-service lockers make it easy for you to loan through a few simple steps...Find out more on the Laptop Loan Service webpage.
