Regretful deaths of our alumna and student

Date

The University of London was incredibly saddened to hear that its alumna, Nisanga Mayadunne, and current student, Sajuni Perera, were both victims of the terrorist attacks that took place in Sri Lanka in April.

Nisanga graduated from the University of London through its distance and flexible learning programmes, having completed the BSc Management with Law programme in 2004. Sajuni was in the second year of her LLB.

It is heartbreaking to see their lives tragically cut short so unnecessarily. Both were highly valued members of the University of London’s global academic community and they will be missed by us all,

said Professor Mary Stiasny OBE, Pro Vice-Chancellor (International), University of London.

She added:

We would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to their families and friends, and to all who lost loved ones.
