Reopening limited study space & Covid testing

Date

From Monday 18 January 2021, we will reopen limited study space for members 11am–3pm on Mondays & Tuesdays only via advance online booking.

This is intended to help those with limited study space and resources at home to continue with their studies and research. Our priority is the health and safety of all our readers and staff and we therefore urge you to keep travel outside your home to a minimum and only if it is absolutely necessary.

Limited socially distanced study space is available in our Goldsmiths, Middlesex North and South Reading Rooms and laptops for use onsite are available from the main service desk. Carrels are not available to book at the current time. The Special Collections reading room will reopen on Tuesdays 11am - 2.45pm from February, by appointment only. Study spaces can be booked when ordering items via the Special Collections email.

Senate House Library staff will check your booking on arrival and may change your seat allocation. This is to ensure adequate social distancing & the safest study environment possible for all readers while onsite. If you are exempt from wearing a face mask, we may upgrade your study space to a carrel & advise on alternative ways to access services to minimise the risk of spreading the virus.

As with all our services, we will continue to review what we can offer on a regular basis, in line with the latest coronavirus restrictions and public health precautions. Please check our website and social media @SenateHouseLib regularly for the latest service updates and ensure you have confirmation of online orders and bookings before travelling.
