Ros Wilton awarded MBE in King’s Birthday honours list

Deputy chair of the Board of Trustees Ros Wilton has been awarded an MBE (Member of the British Empire) in the King’s Birthday honours list, in recognition of her services to Education and Skills.

Ros has had a distinguished career spanning four decades during which she has held many high-profile executive and non-executive positions. She recently stepped down as a Non-Executive Director of London Metric Property PLC, where she was Chair of Audit. 

Previous positions include Non-Executive Director of AXA UK Ltd, where she was Chair of Risk, CEO of Hemscott Group Ltd, the financial data company which merged with a US firm to form the global financial technology company Ipreo, where she became Chairman. As a Director of the London International Financial Futures Exchange (LIFFE), she was the first woman to serve on the board of any Exchange in the UK or Europe. 

Ros has also made significant contributions to the education sector. From 2011-22 she was Vice Chairman of the Harris Federation – a successful education charity running 52 academies, and Chair of Governors for Harris Girls Academy Bromley. 

Ros read Mathematics at the University of London, and since 2016 has volunteered her expertise as an independent member of the board, Deputy Chair and inaugural Chair of the Finance Committee. She has played a critical role in supporting the University in the delivery of its mission to transform lives through education and to realise the benefits of the humanities and social sciences.
