Saying thank you to the NHS

Date

We recently asked some of our residents to record a pre-written message, which we have edited into a video, to thank NHS staff – specifically those in foundation trusts local to all our Intercollegiate Halls.

From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for all that you do.

Life looks so different now, not just for me but for everybody
The streets emptied quickly and university campuses closed
No more lectures or tutorials, and exams postponed
Friends departed and travelled home
Some made it whilst others tried but couldn’t.
Friends and family alone or ill, and we worry as we’re far away
Life can already be difficult and we take so many things for granted
But we count ourselves as the lucky ones.
To all of the doctors and nurses
To the paramedics, care assistants and therapists
To the porters, cleaners and so many more heroes that we never see
Thank you for all that you do for us and for the sacrifices that you make
You leave your families every day to care for those in need
We may never be able to repay our debt to you and your loved ones
But from the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for all that you do.

Thank you.
