University of London Graduate wins Study UK Award 2025

Bahar Taşkın Öztürk has won the Business and Innovation Award at the British Council Study UK Awards in Türkiye.

At a national awards ceremony in Türkiye on 20 March, University of London alumna Bahar was awarded with the prize for Business and Innovation. Bahar, who completed her BSc Economics and Management at the University of London, was recognised for her work as a visionary leader who has devoted herself to fostering diversity and inclusion within corporate success.

Bahar was presented with her award at a ceremony in Türkiye on 20 March.

Bahar co-founded INAN and is currently CGO at Twiser. She earned an Executive MBA from Koç University and holds a BA in Economics and Management from the University of London, having studied through its International Programme in collaboration with Bilgi University. 

My University of London experience profoundly shaped my critical thinking and global perspective. 

After her nomination for the award, Bahar spoke to us about how her University experience has influenced her.

"My University of London experience profoundly shaped my critical thinking and global perspective. 

"Academically, it taught me to challenge norms and design solutions beyond traditional frameworks. Professionally, it equipped me to merge local action with global insights - key to scaling INAN’s impact. Personally, it instilled a boundary-pushing mindset, enabling me to lead confidently in complex, evolving environments. This education remains foundational to my work in advocating for systemic equity and sustainable corporate practices."

Speaking about Bahar's award, Alistair Jarvis CBE, Pro Vice-Chancellor at the University of London said: 

"Bahar has described her London University experience as life changing and I've been moved by how it gave her the motivation to question societal norms, question boundaries and to challenge inequalities.

"She's already helped so many with her work and as a business founder and an innovator, it's clear that Bahar put sustainable change in the pursuit of equality the forefront of her work.
