Professor Wendy Thomson CBE, Vice-Chancellor of the University of London, has been appointed as the Vice-Chair of Council to the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU).

The ACU is an international organisation dedicated to building a better world through international collaboration in higher education. It is the world's first and oldest international university network and has more than 500 member universities in 50 countries.

Professor Thomson said:

I am honoured to have been appointed as Vice-Chair of Council for the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU). The University of London and the ACU share a fundamental belief in the transformative power of higher education. I look forward to working with ACU Council members, whose diverse knowledge and experience bring so much to support its member universities across the Commonwealth.

Professor Thomson’s appointment as Vice-Chair was announced by the ACU on 18 July 2023.
