Academic achievements galore
To applaud the University of London students who had performed well in the 2021 examinations, SIM organised their Achievers’ Event on 1 December 2021.
The pandemic did not dampen the celebratory mood for students who had been recognised by the University of London for excelling in their programmes.
Close to 200 students, faculty and staff tuned in from London, China, Indonesia, India, Myanmar, Malaysia and Singapore. The session was peppered with speeches by the SIM Provost, Professor Wei Kwok Kee and from Programme Directors - Associate Professor Lynsie Chew (UCL), Ms Lynne Roberts (IFP), Dr Francesco Nava (LSE) and Dr Maggie Cooper (Goldsmiths).
It was evident from the video clips submitted by students and alumni that they were in awe of their PAL Leaders and lecturers. Their heart-warming messages of thanks can be read on Padlet, as can the congratulatory messages from staff and faculty from SIM and from UoL, LSE, Goldsmiths and UCL.
The SIM scorecard for 2021 is as follows:
- 274 First Class Honours
- 47 Distinctions
- 63 Subject Toppers
- 45 Awards for Academic Achievement
- 39 Letters of Commendation
Congratulations to all Academic Achievers at SIM. May you continue to shine.
Cynthia Asio (Senior Executive at SIM) was the co-lead in organising the Achievers’ Event 2021. Throughout 2021, staff and students at SIM have celebrated the 35th anniversary of the SIM and University of London collaboration. The Achievers’ Event provided an extra impetus to revel as the year-end holidays draw close.
