Pakistan College of Law hosts high-profile 10th Annual National Moot Court Competition

Between 13-14 January 2023, Pakistan College of Law’s Mooting Society conducted its 10th Annual National Moot Court Competition. Over 30 teams from all over Pakistan applied to participate in this much anticipated annual event conducted to provide exposure and skills training to students of law in Pakistan. This year it was to be a decade of conducting the Moot by the PCL Mooting Society. Teams went through rigorous evaluation of their drafting and advocacy skills as they participated in the preliminary rounds and progressed to the semi-finals. The teams of Indus College of Law and Universal College Lahore comprising mainly of female students went on to competing in the Final Round of the Competition.

Pakistan College of Law was highly honoured to have the Final Rounds of the Moot being judged by five currently serving Honourable Justices of Pakistan’s Superior Courts. The adjudicating bench comprised of Honorable Mr. Justice Ijaz ul Ehsan alongside Honourable Mrs. Justice Ayesha A. Malik of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, Honourable Mr. Justice Aamir Farooq Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court, Honourable Mr. Justice Shahid Bilal Hassan and Honourable Mr. Justice Anwaar Hussain of the Lahore High Court.

The National Moot provided a great opportunity to the finalist teams to present their case in front of actual Justices of the Superior Courts of Pakistan. The efforts of the law students representing their teams were appreciated by the presiding justices and feedback in the form of a review was provided by the Supreme Court of Pakistan’s Honorable Justices who had judged the Final Round. The management committee of the whole event comprising of students of the College were also appreciated for their effort in conducted a successful Moot to a high standard. PCL Mooting Society now looks forward to conducting its 11th National Moot in 2024.
